Who we are
Smart Solar Homes (smartsolarhomes.co.uk) is a trading name of SABBA SERVICES LTD, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 12051689). Contact: hello@smartsolarhomes.co.uk.
What data we collect
We collect personal data only when you submit the install request form on this site. Fields: name, email, optional phone, postcode, property type, ownership type, category interests, optional notes, and your explicit consent choices.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for anonymised analytics if you accept cookies. GA4 records pages visited, approximate location, and device information. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
Your install request data is collected for the purpose of contacting you to discuss your solar installation project and arrange a quote. Your data is not shared with third parties. We will use your details only to follow up directly about your enquiry.
Marketing emails are sent only if you opted in to the optional marketing checkbox. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
Lawful basis
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) for both install enquiries and marketing emails. Consent is captured at form submission and can be withdrawn at any time by emailing hello@smartsolarhomes.co.uk.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and the right to data portability. Email hello@smartsolarhomes.co.uk for any of these requests — we'll action within 30 days.
Sharing your enquiry with installers
If you submit the install request form, we share your enquiry with exactly one MCS-certified installer so they can contact you about it. The installer pays us a fee for the introduction; you do not pay anything for this.
What we share: your name, contact details (email and phone if given), postcode, property and system details (property type, ownership, category interests), and any notes you added.
Once an installer receives your enquiry, they are an independent data controller for that data — responsible for their own lawful basis, retention and security, and for handling any request you make to them directly.
Retention: if your enquiry is not sold to an installer, we anonymise it 60 days after it expires. If it is sold, we anonymise it 12 months after the sale.
To withdraw your consent to being contacted, reply to the introduction email from the installer, or email hello@smartsolarhomes.co.uk and we will action your request.
Cookies
We set:
- A small first-party cookie (ssh_consent_v1) recording your cookie consent choice. Set only when you make a choice. Strictly necessary — not blocked by the consent banner.
- GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — only set after you click "Accept analytics" on the banner.
- Vercel Analytics — cookieless, no consent required.
We do not set advertising cookies ourselves. However, if you click an affiliate link to a retailer such as Amazon, that third party may set tracking cookies on its own domain so the affiliate network can attribute a purchase to the link you followed (Amazon Associates cookies typically expire after 24 hours). See our affiliate disclosure for details. You can block third-party cookies in your browser settings without affecting this site.
